"Last Days"

That last two weeks we were doing a curious thing, we did a time line in a cardboard where we put all the tour of the semestre, what we learnt that six months. We put in a cardboard the main things that happened in that period, and then we draw and color drawings related to that theme. Was a good moment, all working to do that time line, even that work was useful to remind some forgot things and help us to study. We did that thing and then, Alejandra, our teacher let us two weeks to improve our presentations to get higher score. It  was very generous by his part. To sum up and finish this Blog, i think that this work help me to know more things about History of education, and i really like to write in a Blog to share my expriences and my thinking.

5th and 19th of December - "Excursions"

On 5th of December we were lucky to go to the Education museum of the Universidad complutense de Madrid. Was an amazing experience, we saw the evolution of our education in a few square metres. We could saw how the spanish education had changed through the time. P rojector, radio, rules, a speech therapy device and even a lunch box, that was somethings that we could saw on that excursion, was quite interesting how in a few years, that devices were old and let new method and devices get into the education. Even we saw old chemistry materials like test tubes, microscope... And the most interesting thing was see how in 60´s the apply methods that are in the new school techniques like Motessori method. I recomend to all my viewers to visit the education museum of the Uniersidad complutense. And in the 19th of December happens the last excursion of the semestre, we attend to a talk about a book that deal with new educational movements and actuality themes like: methods (Montessori...

12th of January - "International Education Organization"

And finally we arrive to the final presentation that happens on 12th of janury, and that was made by our classmate Marcos Bodas. He talk to us about institutions that works in educational fields like UNESCO, Save the children, OCDE... all that organizations, make me think about all that people to give their lives trying do other lives better. I didnt know some of that institutions but, with that presentations, i not only knew them even i knew their task with people that dont have enough resoures to get basicly education. I think that live on experience like that, go helping like a voluntary to people that needs you, can even completly change your life. Marcos talks about what they do, and my favourite organization was OCDE, i didnt knew them and that was an opportunity to know what they do for the world. Finally Marcos did a homemade video where he explains what they do and how.

9th of January - "New School"

On Tuesday we have another presentation, Maite Palomero, Sol Peón, Maria Aparicio and Gala Sánchez, talked about how looks the new school and  how it has become what it is. Was my favorite presentation because that is an actuallity theme, that is that what we are going to find when we go to the "Practicum". We see how is organizate our educational system, what they are triying to reach... If you see the new school aims, and you compare with old shool aims, you can see a significative change. New school tries the students integration with values of respect... another aim that we can see is the involving of the familys in the eduational process of their kids. As i said before in other post, comunication is an essencial element that we need to keep and take care it. They talked about, as an other presentation, María Montessori and his Montessori´s method. I talked about that method in that blog, if you didn´t read already... What are you waiting for? But a sumary of that p...

8th of January - "Emancipation"

Ana García, Laura García and Javier Montes began this year talking to us about the emanipacipation of the education. They talk about the impotance of transmit values in education, and how Paulo Freire tried to renew the relationship between the teacher and the pupils. From my view point, educational´s relationships has changed since a few years ago, before teachers used to be quite rough and they just taught without communication with they students. But nowadays pupils are consider the main character in the educational process and they probably learn more than a few years ago. We need to improve the dialogue with our students, that is the only way to know how they feel, their worries... And changing it, we could have better enviroment in the educational´s relationship. They did a soup of leters with the contents that they taught us and then we were answering that questions. Finally this soup of letters, they combine it with a....¡Kahoot!.

15th of December - "Deschooling"

Marta Requena, Laura Parla, María Pérez, María Gil and Andrea Fernandez introduced us a currently theme, deschooling. Deschooling is a movement who tried " to separate  education  from the  institution  of school and  operate   through the pupil's life  experience as  opposed  to a set  curriculum " That means that some parents/tutors decided that they can give to their childs a complete education better than the schools has, but without the abolition of theese. Is a new alternative out from the institution of schools, but obviously that movement has advantages and disadvantages. I think that a main advantages is the liberty to teach to the child whatever you want, you can educate it your way. Probably that method will be useful with parents that they have an enterprise and they want to educate their child as fast as possible to put him in. Of course that strategy has another advantages, but i think that is the huge one. But as a...

11th of December - "Emancipation of Denmark"

Maya and Matthias, our Danish friends, gave us on 11th of  December, an explanation of how Denmark educational system works, and the most important part, the emancipation of Denmark We were listening atonish the Denmark emancipation, how they fend for theirself and face the difficulties, and even with that difficulties, they had become an a power in terms of eduction. They are a small but connected countrie that they work day by day to be better. I think that we learnt too much about they and their beautiful country. They finished their presentation with a familiar game, Kahoot, even i answered right the most of questions and i became the first.

4th December - "Montessori"

Our mate Pablo Tirado, in an act of courage, alone, talks about a methodology that it present nowadays in our schools, he talks about Montessori methodology and why it works... On 4th of december, that presentation happens. Pablo was talking about Montessori (Who was... What did she does...), and obviously, he talk about she´s famous method. A principle that i love of that strategy, is the importance that Maria Montessori gave to learn by the experience. Mostly with kids, but this is a reliable method to teach because, kids used to learn by that things that they know, so if you are going to teach how looks roses and previously, they smell one of it, probably they learning will be succede. Then he prepares some question, and he divided us in two groups, where we where arguing and commenting theese questions. He did it very well, even, being alone.

27th-28th November "The Enlightenment"

That presentation occurs between the 27th of november, and finished on the 28th of the same month. Ana Benavente, Álvaro Fernandez, Esther Repilado, Marta Teja and our Finland mate, Johanna, talk about the evolution and how edcuation had developed since that period. An interesting thing that i want to stress, is the importance that they gave to the entlightenment thinkers and they contribution to make a fair world. Enlightenment thinkers used to talk and argue about the educational system an politics, thanks to some authors, educational an politics thouhghts change completely. History is marked by the people who are walking trought  it, so if that authors would not have wrote their books, probably, our society thoughts will be others. They understood the importance of defending  the human rights and reported all the injustice that they saw. They thing an interesting, noisy and original game, where if we losed a play we have to answered a question about the lesson. Was...

28-1st December "Middle Ages"

This presentation wich happens in the 28th of november an finished with a partical part that occurss on the 1st of december. Andrea coronel, Belen Delgado and Iciar De la Nava, talk about the develop of education during the Middle Ages period. They talk  about the church and the repercusion that it have  in the society. In that days the church had the control over a quite large chart of things, institutions and even, people... Nowadays, in some parts of Spain, church and society have been separate and take different ways. I think that in some cases, that can improve education, but that rough break up between the church with the education, i think that is a bit ungrateful from part of the education system. Church has contribued grate things to education: methodologies, thinkers... But some day church would be separated from education, and i think that forbid to church impart class and have their own schools is an error. They use and APP "Kahot" to evalute us our knowledge...
